Arugment 170 練習
The argument's conclusion is that if Gulf Coast's oyster producers start to use new methods to kill the bacteria, there will be greater profits to Gulf Coast oyster producers. I think it is good to listen the new method for killing bacteria, but the argument still unconvincing. Here is why.
First, the author claims that consumers would like to pay twice as much for oysters form the northeastern Atlantic Coast as for Gulf Coast oysters because of the bacteria. Obviously, the author's assumption is that the qualities are the same both on northeastern Atlantic Coast and Gulf Coast oysters. Maybe the price of the oysters form the northeastern Atlantic Coast is higher that Gulf Coast in normal. The bacteria only decrease a little price for Gulf Coast's oysters.
Second, even there is a new method for killing harmful bacteria, but does not mention that the consumers would accept the oysters through the process of killing bacteria. If the new method is using X-ray to killing the bacteria, there is no customers will interesting the oysters which are processed.
Third, as the author says, if the Gulf Coast oyster producers using the new method for killing bacteria, they will have great profit. Is it true? As a graduated student with a minor in Economics, I would like to say the answer is no. Actually, if there are more and more oysters in the market, with the same demand, the price will decrease. Further, the consumer would treat the oysters which are processed as lower class products than the oysters from northeastern Atlantic Coast, and ask for lower price to buy the oysters from Gulf Coast oysters.
Last, we should care about that the author only describes the behavior of consumers in California, but his conclusion is for everyone, not just in the California. It will be a big problem if he suggests the Gulf Coast oyster producers to use the new method.

ISSUE 練習
Topic : Confirmity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy.
Context:
As a graduated student who studied in master program, I agree that confirmity almost always cause the creatity died.
In our scoeity, there are too many things that are too confirmity, you even can not sense anything that be limited. You would not sense there are some points have to change, you would not feel that all customs have been set up already. Can you image that if there is a man wearing a skirts in the public? Can you image that there are no entrance tests for your school? Because there are so many social norms in our live, that cause you would not use your creatively in your live. You would choose to wear a skirts in the public beacause you don't want to be different by the others. This is the power of confirmity.
To tell the truth, we usually feel a man who has too much creativity is a wire person. We would cost our time to understand his creativeity, but usually category his creativity as a kind of art. Thus, many artists would not be respected in his world. For example, Milo, a interesting painter in the history, development a kind of painting style by his own. But in the past (the period he lived), few people repected or like these kind of painting. No one would waste money to buy his paintings. No one understand what topic in his painting. His paintings have different judement in now. Now, the notebook using his painting style in the cover in order to sell higher price, his paintings are collected by big art mesuams and are treated like a
treasure in the world.
In many fields, you can see the same situation. Now, color television is common in the world, but in the past, no one like and accept the television. In the past, when television first be developed, someone says that the product would absorb the people's soul into the "blak box."
But many years ago, every family has its own television, and many people like to watch the television show very much.
In my major, there is a funny debate for the confirmity and creativeity in forest management.
Many older professors think the forest management should use experts to maintain its proper and optimum use, but the younger professors think that the experts should corporate with local people for forest management. The younger professors think the local people would have their local experience for forest management and bring more creativity for forest management. In the other hand, the older professors think that the manager should have confirmity for forest management. Untill now, it is an interesting debate in our department.

突然有一種不能言喻的心情
快考試了 (GRE AWA)
要申請工作的申請函寄出去了
我開始覺得有一種空虛,難以言喻
是不是高度的不安全感
讓我竟然突然覺得自己人生的不確定性
覺得這是不能抵抗的低潮
卻不是能找到解決問題的低潮
